Its been mentioned on F/B that a firm called B&M might be moving into the old Kwik save in Walkergate .will be great if its true but that buildings been unused for so long it must be in a right state inside !!

I think B & M have a former Supermarket in Galashiels, very similar to Home Bargains

Its closed Grumpy ,as far as i know. its a shame ,once pubs keep opening and shutting it usually heading towards the finish !!

Was told yesterday that rent for the Bear is £700 a week, with similar rates - and tied to the brewery for drink.
Can see why My S is no longer there, I hear he has the Thatch for 3 months, as he had rented his house out, and the Brewery did not want to make him homeless.
Also hear of a change in ownership at Grove after letting the lass that has it make some money over Christmas.

thought that the grove was gonna be a house shame coz there's nowhere else nearby for the regulars to go been a pub a long time, but who on earth can afford £700 a week plus rates |

dont know about nights but ive never seen it open on a lunch time except at the weekend !!
Nearly every week somebody tells you about shops closing but yesterday somebody told me that when the new unit gets built beside currys ,Boots are gonna come of the high street and go in there !! Surely not !! I thought it was gonna be KFC lol

Some time ago, KFC sought permission to build on part of the existing Car Park on the retail park, don't know what became of it.
I know of one landlord turning down £ 300k for a site for KFC elsewhere in the town.
Have heard about Boots before, I believe that they own their own shop, and still own their old shop on the other side of Marygate, but footfall is so dire that they will rent on the retail park to get sales.

was in Berwick this morning and had a look in the brown bear window, there's a notice on the door saying 24 hour security and no valuables are inside  also had a look in that money shop window and saw all the jewellery for sale, lots of rings, necklaces etc. what a shame if somebodys had to sell their jewellery for money, some nice stuff there too Berwick high st. looking tired and weary, wonder what happened to the portas money |
