From The Berwick Advertiser Online: THE Royal Bank of Scotland is being urged to consider its Berwick branch as Scottish rather than English in a bid to prevent its closure. The banking giant announced last week that it was selling off all its English network, including the branch on Hide Hill, even though it has been managed as part of the Scottish region for many years. An employee at the Berwick branch, who asked to remain anonymous, said: "Whether or not people are aware, Berwick has always been seen as a 'Scottish' branch in terms of a region within the UK.
