There is staff covering the unit 24/7. I know 1 of the nurses that works nights ok then, saturday night, i was a bit off colour, namingly bleeding pretty badly from the guts, wifey phoned nordoc, it was 9=30 pm when my son picked me up , under dr b*****y.s orders to take me to berwick infirmary , i had a temperature and the dangly thing at the back of ma throat was swollen that bad it was lying half way to the front of my tongue, and if i breathed in too hard it would shoot back down my throught and felt like i was being choked, then hoop up more blood,, anyway, she said i am gona have to send you to the freeman, then she said first i will phone for advice, as it happens she gave me 9 pills to take 8 of them in 1 shot, i was then told to go straight to bed, and if through the night there was any repetition wifey had to phone berwick infirmary, and i was told even though i had been treated earlier, i cud not be admitted as doc goes off at ten/ they would phone ambulance to take me to freeman, no-one is admitted into berwick after ten, they decide if you need transport or not, so basically they are just a call centre after 10 pm, nd not 24 /7 a&e i was told to attend x ray on a sunday at 11 am , so does an x ray on a sunday make sense ?? crazy if you ask me, however ma x ray has been sent for a 2nd opinion, so hopefully its not bad
