if it was just adults, I'd make them wait til the tide went out again, but it really p**ses me off when you here about it, cos there's always KIDS as well, forbye the fact that the 'grown ups' are putting them in danger, it must be absolutely terrifying for them!

how much does it cost for a helicopter ??/ thousands of pounds a trip / why not put a barrier with padlock on each side and get 2 locals to lock them15 mins before the tide comes in/ both their annual wages for dong a job twice a day, for a year wont be a fraction of the cost

It costs about £4000 an hour for the boulmer helicopter My idea for the causeway was to put up traffic lights turning to red when tide in then if anyone got caught by the tide they could be charged with going through a red light fine and 3 points

I mind my uncle saying when he was away climbing somewhere, he'd to sign a form saying that if anything happened to him after so many thousand feet, he understood that no one would be coming to help him, and that he was continuing at his own risk. i was thinking of something similar at the causeway, but perhaps a bit extreme!!! although, a muckle sign (like the ones on the motorway) that flashed SAFE/ NOT SAFE!!! would probably work well too, then the kids can at least point it out to their parents
