According to the Tizer the cooncil has had a great idea--they want to turn the old toilet block in Bankhill into an ice cream shop! will it make much money hidden away around there ?

Apparently, the Ice Cream man has pushed very hard for 5 years to drive this enterprise forward.
It must be great to come to Berwick, make the right connections, and get the public coffers to make new business premises for you.

Like so many things in the town Grumpy. We want to have it to use when we want, but don't want to put the effort in to use it at other times.

Yes indeed, portas funded, a great boost to the High Street.
Amazed that the chap is allowed to chain a sign to the monument that is Scotsgate (jobs created ;0), at the same time that Conundrum has had to close with the loss of local jobs, the forced blacking out of ther signage on their own land being a major factor........

At best squandered, no doubt the ex Mayor has cast off the poisoned mantle wisely.
Ironically, have the gutters been cleaned?
That was to be an immediate, quick and easy task.
Was at Galashiels yesterday - MANY empty shops and a run down look to the town centre.
What a great Tesco though - "Berwick could do with a shop like that"

Gala looking decidedly tired, as is Hawick. A lot of locals run Berwick down, but we are so much better than other borders towns. I guess a lot of the Portas money has just "gone", not suggesting dishonesty, but spent unproductively.
