A note in with my prescription today says--Northumberland county council have changed the process for requesting Disabled parking badges .You may now need to supply a letter from your doctor .The patient will now have to pay the fee of £18 for this service .!!

I have been curious about something in relation to disabled parking. If you are disabled, but can work the same as anyone else, why is disabled parking free? They are changing the rules where I am living just now, to make disabled parking the same price as standard parking.

its a bit hard on people who are seriously disabled i think . and the whole purpose is for those people to have a convenient parking space near to where they are going .

Why do supermarkets have disabled parking spaces near the door, and expect the disabled to walk for seemingly miles when inside?

good point.....why not take it further and have spaces near the door for men who are just going in to grab what they need and come out again, spaces for women who just go in to socialise could be placed in the furthest away corner and no spaces for 4x4 drivers.
