Yes, they are the target of vitriol, but are they doing it for the love of the town? I seem to recall that our local councillor was getting in excess of £40k a year, and I am sure he is not alone. Coincidentally, this same chap didn't realise that I lived in his ward, obviously a man who takes an interest in the neighbourhood - I've lived here 10 years and he lives in the next street! There again it doesn't seem 10 years since he moved to Berwick. Just like to point out only county councilors get paid, so for the Berwick area that is 3. Town councilors only get limited out of pocket ex's

I know that it's called democracy, but find it "amusing" that a newcomer to the town can offer himself for election, be heavily defeated, then apply for another ward and get elected becaiuse nobody else stood. Must send an odd message to the residents of the Three Fields
