see te new YMCA charity shop is open !!must have some cracking stuff cos it looked like they had security man on the door !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New Next shop on Retail Park, is going to be selling homeware I am told. But will not be open for while yet - The carpet shop is moving in where the building work is being done, and where they are is being extended the same, and Next is going in, with an upstairs too!. Completion date is July, but then again, the current one is to be finished by February 27th........

think Next will do a better trade if they bring a clothes dept in as well -may as well make it a bit of everything !!!

Looks like The Lemon Shop on the corner of west st. and high st. is closed now too!! another empty shop  Thistle do nicely cafe in Walkergate changing hands-hope its a success for the new owners !!!  |

The notice on the lemon shop window said it was closed Monday Tuesday and Wednesday for staff training
Seems the bead shop in Hide Hill is also closing

Wilkinsons rumoured to be moving in to old Clintons Card shop on Marygate.

that would be good --any shop is better than an empty one i think.
me and Juna went into Wilkinsons cafe in The Toon and nearly got ejected all over a spoonfull of coleslaw lol

I fear that the arrival of Wilkinsons may not prove so popular with the Youngmans or Glendale Paints.
