BERWICK MP Sir Alan Beith's commitment to the dualling of the A1 in Northumberland has been questioned by a political rival.
Anne-Marie Trevelyan has thrown down the gauntlet to the veteran Lib Dem MP after a regional newspaper revealed he had shared no correspondence with coalition government ministers on the dualling of the road.
A freedom of information enquiry to the Department for Transport last week resulted in the publication of a record of correspondence which apparently uncovered no evidence of any correspondence between ministers and Sir Alan.
