in the papers today berwick's no. 3 in the country for second home owners  no.1 is south hams devon no.2 is north cornwall no.3 berwick upon tweed says not good for young ones trying to get a foot on the ladder  |

thats very true . son and his girlfriend live in her flat in marygate 1 bedroom running wi damp and walls covered wi fungus . shes 8 mths pregnant , struggling wi 3 flights stairs and theyve been tocld no chan ce of a house 4 up to a year !!

A lot of the problems re social housing in this and other areas is due to the fact that the tories under maggie started the whole sale selling off of council houses for highly discounted price's and also not allowing the money raised to be used to build more homes.
This caused a shortage of afordable rented accomidation which will never be put right
