From the Berwick Advertiser: ARCHAEOLOGISTS have embarked on their eleventh season of excavations at Bamburgh Castle and their expectations are as high as ever. The 2010 season of archaeological work will build on previous digs which have uncovered items such as medieval weapons and coins. Graeme Young, director of the Bamburgh Research Project, said: "A horde of Anglo-Saxon coins was found in the last few days of last season's excavations and we're still finding metal work, so it promises to be a very exciting season.
