From The Berwick Advertiser: THIS year's Berwick Riding of the Bounds will take place on Saturday, May 1, when the event, now in its 401st year, will see more than 100 riders and horses gather in the town. The historic event will start at 10.30am at Berwick Barracks as the riders, led by this year's chief marshal, Sheena Dixon, head to the Guildhall in Marygate to seek permission from the town's Mayor to check the town's boundaries are intact. The ride will then head north to the border, enjoying a halfway stop at Gainslaw Hill Farm and games at The Lough next to Canty's Brig before heading back into Berwick to inform the Mayor that the boundaries are all secure.
