Now don't get me wrong, I'm not from Berwick but I do know the area as we sometimes drag the Bugsy Caravan up and stay in Spittal.......

Anyroadup......not so long ago some Berwick Bigwig (is it a wig LOL?) apparently suggested that Spittal should have an opera house on the prom....

Imagine the scene, sunny summer evening...a pint or seven in the Albion....wander along to listen to some canny chanters singin in italian....supper at Foulis on the way home (or the Great Wall if you're that way inclined...)

What could be better

opera hoose might be just the thing for the youth of berwick. after all you must hav heard them belting around in their little cars wi the sounds of mario lanza ,russel watson and others like them roaring out their windows.

I know this bloke who's cousin is in the same whippet club as a lad who's goin out with the sister of a bloke who works on the council.......and he gave me this....

It's an artist's impression of the plans for the new opera house....

Apparently, it's a copy of the Sydney Opera House....they thought it was a good way of getting back at the aussies for stealing the design of the Tyne Bridge when they built their Sydney Harbour Bridge or summat
