more snow and freezing for the next week / everythng comes to a halt / how come in the 1960,s snowdrifts were 4 and 5 foot high , especially at the highest point in gateshead ( sherrif hill ) yet i still had to go to school ? nowadays if frost is forecast , schools are shut in advance

amazing , as many roads closed , police say dont drive unless a matter of life or death, yet tv news cameras and vans are always at the unpassable places

had radio borders on before and it was giving out a list of places that were closed due to the weather it included hairdressers,dentists, hospital appointments, dustbin collections suspended, the factory at chirnside and loads more i cannae remember

i can never remember the modern school shutting cos of bad weather when i was there.i can remember doin lessons wi ma coat on tho when the heating packed in!
