EFFORTS are being stepped up to ensure Berwick's links to its twin towns do not disappear following the demise of the borough council.
Berwick Borough Council had formal links with five other towns but Northumberland County Council has indicated it does not plan to maintain these ties.
Town councillors have therefore decided to call a public meeting in the Guildhall on Monday, September 28 at 7pm to discuss the best way forward.
