Berwick Xmas Lights - will you chip in?

From the Berwick Advertiser:

BERWICKERS have been told they will have to put in the hard graft themselves if they want to see an attractive Christmas lights display in the town.
Coun Jim Smith has urged townspeople to work together in the same way as the communities of Wooler, Seahouses and Belford have done.

He said: "Belford, Seahouses and Wooler have been funding their own Christmas lights for a number of years and they have done a wonderful job - it's up to us to get our act together to do the same."

does alnwick people fund theirs ? coz mind they are stunning / people pay council tax so let the council fund them

Alnwick's are funded entirely privately. Businesses having their own displays and people being invited to sponsor bulbs.

the rotary does ours and fair do,s to them, but the council should help, in fact im sure the castlegate residents have their own

well am no handin over ny of ma hard earned cash, berwicks shops r shite anyway so y wud i wnt to go xmas shopin there

but i would give to the rotary club coz they do a lot of good work that was what the honey farm band night was for

rotary do a good job for the disabled and people with learning disabilties in berwick. every year they take a bus load and their carers to the panto at the theatre royal with chips after.in july they run a bus to the diabled games in middlesborough with a slap-up meal afterwards and they also help out with discos etc. they do a great job !!
